Braces Treatment at InfiSmiles Dental Clinic, Surat
Straight teeth are easier to clean and a well-fitting bite is easier on your teeth and jaw. Braces gently move teeth into better positions over time. At InfiSmiles, your braces treatment starts with a full examination, X-rays and a discussion of what you want to change, so the plan fits your teeth, your age and your budget.
We offer metal, ceramic, lingual and self-ligating braces, and can advise on clear aligners where they are suitable. Care is led by Dr. Dhaval Patel, Chairman of InfiSmiles, who has served patients for more than 18 years. You can choose our Sayan or Sarthana (Nana Varachha) branch, whichever is closer to you.
What Are Braces and How Do They Work?
Dental braces are orthodontic appliances that straighten teeth and correct the way the upper and lower teeth meet. Small brackets are fixed to the teeth and joined by a thin archwire. The wire applies light, steady pressure, and the bone around each tooth slowly remodels so the tooth settles into its new position.
Braces are adjusted every few weeks to keep the movement going. Orthodontic treatment can correct crowding, gaps, rotated teeth and many bite problems, which is why teeth alignment in Surat is one of our most requested dental services.
Signs You May Need Braces
Only an orthodontic examination can confirm this, but these are the most common reasons people choose braces:
- Crowded teeth: Teeth overlap or twist because there is not enough room.
- Gaps between teeth: Spaces that bother you or affect your bite.
- Overbite or protruding upper teeth: The upper front teeth sit far ahead of the lower teeth.
- Underbite: Lower teeth sit in front of the upper teeth.
- Crossbite: Some upper teeth bite inside the lower teeth.
- Open bite: The front teeth do not meet when you close your mouth.
- Hard-to-clean teeth: Crowded areas that trap food and plaque and are difficult to floss.
- Uneven wear or jaw discomfort: Sometimes linked to a bad bite, though many other things can cause jaw pain, so we examine before we advise.

Benefits of Braces and Teeth Alignment
- Easier cleaning: Straight teeth are easier to brush and floss, which helps you keep your teeth and gums healthy.
- A better-fitting bite: Correcting how the teeth meet can make chewing more comfortable and spread biting force more evenly.
- A smile you feel good about: Many patients, especially teenagers and adults, say they smile more freely after treatment.
- Clearer planning for other dental work: Aligned teeth make crowns, implants and smile makeovers easier to plan.
- Lasting results with retainers: Teeth stay in their new positions when you wear retainers as advised.
Braces do not suit every case, and results depend on the condition of your teeth and gums and how well you follow instructions. We explain realistic outcomes before you commit.
Types of Braces Available at InfiSmiles Dental Clinic Surat
The right braces depend on your bite, your age, how visible you want them to be and your budget. These are the main options.
1. Metal Braces ( Stainless steel brackets & wires )
This is the most widely used type and works for most simple and complex cases. Metal braces are usually the most affordable option, and children and teenagers can choose coloured elastic bands.
2. Ceramic Braces
Tooth-coloured or clear brackets that blend with your teeth, so they are less noticeable than metal. They work like metal braces but cost more, and the elastic bands can stain if you do not care for them well.
3. Lingual Braces
Brackets are fixed to the back (tongue side) of the teeth, so they are hidden from the front. They need more skill to place and adjust, can feel awkward on the tongue at first, and are not suitable for every bite.
4. Self-Ligating Braces
Brackets with a built-in clip instead of elastic ties. They are often easier to keep clean and may need fewer tightening adjustments. Research has not shown a consistent reduction in total treatment time, so we do not promise faster results. They are not invisible braces.
5. Clear Aligners and Invisible Braces
Clear aligners are removable, transparent trays worn for most of the day. They suit selected mild to moderate cases and need strict daily wear.

How to Choose the Right Braces
We recommend a type only after examining your teeth and bite. During your consultation we consider:
- What needs correcting: Complex bite problems often need fixed braces.
- Your age and lifestyle: Contact sports, musical instruments and daily routine all matter.
- How visible you want them: Metal, ceramic, lingual or aligners each offer a different balance.
- Budget and timeline: We give you the options and cost differences in writing.
- Your commitment to care: Brushing, wearing elastics and keeping appointments affect the result.
Braces Treatment Procedure: Step by Step
- Consultation and examination: We examine your teeth, gums and bite and talk about your goals.
- Records and diagnosis: X-rays, photographs and impressions or scans of your teeth help us plan.
- Treatment plan: You get the recommended braces, the likely duration, the cost and what is expected from you.
- Preparing the teeth: Any decay or gum problems are treated first. Your teeth are cleaned and polished before braces are fitted.
- Fitting the braces: Brackets are bonded to the teeth with dental adhesive and set with a curing light. The archwire is then placed. Fitting is not painful, and takes about one to two hours.
- Regular adjustments: You return every four to eight weeks so the wires and elastics can be changed.
- Removal and retainers: When teeth are in the right place, the braces are removed and you are given retainers to keep the result.

How Long Does Braces Treatment Take?
Most braces treatment takes between 12 and 24 months. Small corrections can take as little as 6 to 12 months, and complex cases may take up to three years.
Treatment time depends on how crowded the teeth are, the type of bite problem, your age, your gum and bone health, and how closely you follow instructions such as wearing elastics and attending appointments. We give you an estimate after the examination and update it if your progress changes.
Braces Cost in Surat
The cost of braces in Surat depends on several factors:
- Type of braces: Metal braces usually cost the least. Ceramic, lingual and aligners cost more.
- Complexity of the case: Mild crowding costs less to treat than a major bite correction.
- Treatment duration: Longer treatment means more adjustment visits.
- Extra procedures: Extractions, mini-implants, gum treatment or fillings are charged separately.
- Retainers: Confirm whether they are included in the quote.
We provide a written estimate after your examination, with payment options if available.
Braces for Children, Teenagers and Adults
- Children: An orthodontic check-up around age 7 lets us spot jaw and bite problems early. Many children do not need braces then, but some benefit from early guidance.
- Teenagers: Most comprehensive braces treatment starts once the permanent teeth have come in, commonly between ages 11 and 14.
- Adults: There is no upper age limit for braces as long as your teeth and gums are healthy. Many adults choose ceramic braces, lingual braces or clear aligners for a more discreet look. If you have gum disease or missing teeth, we treat those first.
